When there are so many French restaurants in Saigon, it is great to see that some of them offer a brand new concept.
Cocotte? So, what is it exactly? Wha does it mean?
It is a round or oval covered, heatproof dish or casserole in which food can be both cooked and served. It is used especially for cooking an individual portion.
Got it? 🙂
Cocotte is this new restaurant great located inside a hem on 136/11 Le Thanh Ton street, just in front of the Benh Thanh Market. The restaurant is not very big, probably 20-25 seats with a rustic decoration.
Every single dish is served in a cocotte (that is why they name the restaurant Cocotte), it is traditional and typic french dishes such as Duck parmentier, duck confit, French sausages lentils, etc.
It is really good and is good value for money. Dishes are roughly between 100,000-150,000 VND. They also serve craft beer (the glass is 45,000 VND and the pint is 65,000 VND), homemade rum and good wine.
This is definitely the right place to go if you are craving for french food, a cool and friendly dinner with friends or in family.
