Getting tailor made garments is quite easy here, and given the small choice one has regarding apparel, getting your clothes done with your fabric is quite easy.
The cool thing about it is that if you spot your friend wearing a cool outfit, you can just copy it to your size and you can be sure it’s exclusive! Yes ok, so where can you buy fabric in HCM ?
Tan Dinh market
The most easily accessible fabric market is by far the Tan Dinh market.
It’s very central, right off Hai Ba Trung – pink church level – and has everything you can dream of.
Yet, it’s also one of the most expensive ones.
48 Mã Lộ, Tân Định, District 1, HCM
Tan Binh market
Although the name is very similar to the first market, it’s not at all the same one ! Located in the Tan Binh district, it’s a 20 minute drive from the city center (District 1). There, you will find amazing cotton and linens. The market itself is quite messy, so don’t hesitate to go around, as there are many shops and lanes surrounding the market.
172-174M, Lý Thường Kiệt, Tân Bình District, HCM
An Dong market
This market is quite quiet so it’s actually nice to shop there, as you don’t have to fight your way around. The first and second floor are dedicated to fabrics, and you will find some good quality printed cotton as well as nude colored linen.
18 An Duong Vuong, District 5, HCM
For supplies, such as zippers, buttons, needles, pearls… (anything you need really), the place you need to go to is Binh Tai Market in Cholon. You will find absolutely everything in every size to embellish your garments.
57A Thap Moui, District 6, HCM
Another option will be Dai Quang Minh market, also in Cholon. You will also find there all kind of zippers, buttons, pearls, ribbons and so on.
33-35, Chau Van Liem, District 5, HCM
Don’t forget to bargain as prices are not fixed prices!
